INANIMATE (July 2022) was shown at Wallingford Community Arts Center. It was a multimedia exhibition featuring oil paintings and drawings as well as video/audio installation work from Chris Dahlke. The paintings in this show were centered around an on going obsession with chairs, both as a visual motif and as a conceptual symbol. Painted chairs are juxtaposed with flora and fauna and abstract shapes to create an atmosphere that draws attention to the division between the motifs of the aritificial world and the natural one, while also highlighting the beauty in the mundane.
